Well, that was worth the trouble I'm going to get into, to be able to say I was there for all that. Melina was beautiful, Marco was proud and all is right with the world. I don't know what happened with the other couple who were supposed to get married, not really, but I tried to tell Valeria, she really doesn't want to be married to someone who'd rather have sex with another man than with her! She looked like she was having a fairly good time with Nat Pritchard the last time I saw her though. And if he doesn't cure her of the notion that one's first is one's best then I don't know who can.
Maria Dashwood has changed a lot, and not in a good way. Currently she's sitting across from me in a train compartment; she'll get out in Londinium, while I'm going to head down to Hogsmeade to sneak into David Kerensky's house and sleep with him tonight (now that he's had his attitude adjusted and his trousers replaced). My parents are already furious--I might as well have all the fun I can have before Mrs Kerensky drags me back up to them in Mamucium for services tomorrow. Maria's hardly spoken three words to me the entire trip, and she's hurt herself somehow, but the silly bitch wouldn't hear of finding one of the healers at the party and staying overnight. She says she can't wait to get back to Londinium.
Besides, they won't punish me till after Rosh Hashanah's fully over. And I really can't wait to see how Cousin Ilan is doing with that gorgeous woman he brought over Friday night, and to see how Alden and Rachel are handling their first holiday unofficially almost married, and to see how Elie's holding up amidst the chaos. He's going to be so pretty when he's had a few more decent meals.
